F1 Newsboard is run by Greg C from UK. This page explains what data the site collects, why, and what your rights are under the UK GDPR.
What the site collects
Analytics (no cookies, no device storage)
When you visit, the server records the page you viewed, the referring URL if any, your user-agent string, a country derived from your IP address, and a session identifier generated on the server. No cookies are set, no local storage is used, and no third-party analytics scripts run. Retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted.
Account data (only if you sign up)
If you create an account, the site stores a username, a bcrypt-hashed password, and your account role. No email address is collected.
Server logs
Nginx keeps access logs including IP addresses for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. Logs rotate and delete after 30 days.
Lawful basis
Analytics data is processed under UK GDPR legitimate interests — understanding site usage to improve it. Because no individual visitor is identified and no device-side storage is set, consent is not relied on.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access, correction, or deletion of personal data, object to processing, and complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). Use the contact form to exercise any of these.
Third parties
- Cloudflare provides CDN and DDoS protection and may see your IP in transit.
- No data is shared with advertisers; no ad tracking runs.
