Yas Marina Circuit
Track Sectors
The fastest part of the lap, running under the Viceroy hotel — long sweeping corners feeding the long back straight.
The hardpoint of the circuit — Turn 5, Turn 6 and the marina hairpin complex — chicanes and heavy braking.
The flowing marina section past the yacht basin and through the final corner onto the pit straight — sleek and stylish.
About Yas Marina
The Yas Marina Circuit is the showpiece finale of almost every Formula 1 season. The layout threads through the Yas Island resort, running under the Viceroy hotel bridge and along the marina itself. A 2021 reprofiling removed several slow-speed corners, straightened others, and significantly improved overtaking by producing two long DRS zones on the main straight and the back straight.
The race begins at dusk and finishes fully under floodlights, with the sky transitioning from daylight to darkness across the event. The setting, the stakes and the natural lighting combine to produce a distinctive visual signature that has made Abu Dhabi the traditional end-of-season event.

Circuit History
Abu Dhabi joined the F1 calendar in 2009. It has been the season-closing venue in almost every year since, including several title-deciding climaxes — 2010, 2016, 2021 and beyond. The 2021 reprofiling followed years of criticism that the original layout produced largely processional races.
